It was a beautiful day in early October
A ride to breakfast and a couple bike shops had been planned for the morning. Robert and Donna were getting ready to head out when a flat tire was found on Donna's bike. Donna had to ride Co-Pilot.

OH MY!!!!!!!!
When we arrived at the bike shop, most of us made our way inside while Robert occupied Donna outside. Not only was the bike a surprise, but Trisha, Richie and Robert Austin were there.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
While we all watched, Donna seemed to realize, this bike was actually hers!

Room and power for 2
Not often do you see a motorcycle with 1 mile on the odometer and 2 people. While the bike is powerful enough to ride 2, probably better put someone smaller than Robert on the back, he can still put his feet on the ground.

A little practice in the parking lot
Donna made a few laps around the parking lot to get the feel of the controls. Slow speed manuvering is one of the toughest parts of riding, but she pulled it off like a champ.

Time to go
A quick moment to get the radio hooked up and they were ready to head out.
|
Donna's taking her new ride on the road the first time
While we all would have liked to head out for the maiden ride, Donna was accompanied Robert, Ken & Julie. Ken & Julie had to head on home and Robert had to get home and put some air back in the tire he'd flattened the night before.

One week later
One week and nearly a thousand miles later, this picture was taken on a "switchback" on our fall color ride south of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We did a lot of miles that weekend and watching Donna get more comfortable by the mile was really awesome. THIS GAL CAN RIDE!
